THE IMPACT OF THE GENDER AND COLLEGE VARIABLES ON THE MATURITY OF THE CAREER AMONG THE FIRST YEAR STUDENTS AT SULTAN QABOOS UNIVERSITY

This quantitative study discusses the level of professionalism maturity students at Sultan Qaboos University in Sultanate Oman. The problem is that lack professional makes student hesitant, to chooses specialization randomly or according parents teachers' opinion, regardless his inclinations, capabilities, future planning and what labor market requires. Which leads a change specialization, delay graduation quit university. Therefore, aimed diagnose first-year students, effect gender (male / female) variables, Faculty (human scientific). To achieve objectives descriptive analytical method was used. data collection based on (Crates) scale for tendency, applied sample (328) male female students. findings revealed that: direction average as whole, field independence ranked first, assurance came second, while interest decision-making last. There were statistically significant differences occupational orientation attributed variable; where appeared area only favor males.
